A Wonderful World with Pete Horsfall

For this special show, Pete Horsfall celebrates the music of the trumpet player, singer and greatest son of New Orleans - Louis Armstrong. Pete's obsession with Armstrong's music followed him to the USA where he was invited to play on Louis' instruments, an experience that cemented his love and commitment to the repertoire of this musical giant. This concert will feature a cast of the UK's most in demand jazz musicians, including Pete Horsfall - trumpet/vocals, Alec Harper - saxophone, Joe Webb - piano, Fergus Ireland - bass, and Matt Skelton - drums.

Pete Horsfall is a critically acclaimed trumpet player and singer vocalist based in the UK. He has performed at many prestigious venues and festivals throughout the world, including many shows at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club and a residency at The Lincoln Center in New York City. He has also featured regularly on national radio, including interviews and live sessions on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3 and Jazz FM.

Pete is a founding member of the award winning jazz group Kansas Smitty's House Band and is currently a soloist with singer Clare Teal's touring ensemble. In addition, as a session musician Peter has played trumpet and flugelhorn for an array of pop & hiphop groups including DJ Premier, De La Soul and Friendly Fires.

You can start your evening of music and gastronomy with Searcys Confectioner’s afternoon tea, inspired by the company founder, John Searcy. Set under the ornate ceilings of the Morning Room, settle down for a selection of savouries including a Smoked salmon rillette with horseradish and pickled fennel, alongside freshly baked scones and pastries of Caramel choux, Blackberry macaron and signature Victoria cake. And to learn more about the history of afternoon tea and the venue’s architecture and art, there will also be a pocket guide available (one per table).
