3 Christmas cocktails from our Champagne Bar to make at home
If last Christmas was one to remember for the wrong reasons, we want to make this year’s memorable for all the right ones! Whether you’re having a small gathering at home or visiting friends this festive season, the Searcys team have created a range of seasonal cocktails to get you feeling merry and bright this winter. From modern to nostalgic to non-alcoholic, there’s something for everyone and Orshada de Silva, deputy General Manager at 116 Pall Mall is talking us through the recipes. So from our bar to yours - let’s get stuck in:
“This year is our first Christmas as the new Champagne Bar, so we want it to be extra special for our guests when they come to visit us, or if they can’t make it in time to try our new recipes, they can make them at home (and tag us on Instagram @116PallMall!) to get in the festive spirit.”
Winter Spiced Negroni
“First up we have our seasonal take on the classic Negroni, made with spiced gin for a Christmassy taste. Negronis have always been a popular cocktail in the bar and restaurant at 116 Pall Mall, so giving it a twist feels like the perfect fit! Our Christmas dinner menu this year is something we’re really excited about – and a Negroni is the perfect way to kick it off.”
To make one glass
30ml Spiced infused Bombay Sapphire London dry gin
30ml Martini Riserva Speciale Rubino vermouth
30ml Martini Riserva Speciale Bitter vermouth
Orange peel, cinnamon stick
Method
Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice cubes. Pour over the infused gin and both vermouths and stir. For a garnish, add orange peel and a cinnamon stick.
Santa’s Milk
“Next up is one for those with a sweet tooth. We created this to remind guests of leaving a drink and snack out for Father Christmas when they were younger (or maybe they still do!) – milk for some families, something stronger if Santa was lucky!
To make one glass
25ml Mozart white chocolate liqueur
25ml Bacardi spiced rum
10ml Frangelico liqueur
10ml Amaretto Disaronno liqueur
10ml Vanilla syrup
Method
Shake all the ingredients with ice. Strain into a milk bottle (or a glass) and add a straw. Enjoy with a couple of festive biscuits or a mince pie!
Jolly Martini
“And last but definitely not least is our Jolly Martini, made with no alcohol but with plenty of festive spirit. The perfect refreshing mocktail for those who don’t drink, are taking it easy (or have been chosen as designated driver!) in our Champagne Bar or at one of the Christmas parties that are taking place at home or at 116 Pall Mall over the next few weeks. This is also ideal for those who have chosen to celebrate their festive party in January when more of their friends and family can gather – it's the perfect drink for Dry January!”
To make one glass
75ml Martini non-alcoholic Vibrante
25ml Cranberry juice
30ml Soda water
10ml Home-made rosemary syrup
Rosemary sprig and candy cane
Method
Half fill a highball glass with crushed ice. Pour over the Martini Vibrante, cranberry juice and rosemary syrup and finish with soda water. Stir and add extra ice if required and garnish with the rosemary and a candy cane.
“We’re so excited to see you in the Champagne bar ordering our brand new festive cocktails, or making them at home and sharing them with our team on social media. All that’s left to do is raise a toast to you, and cheers to 2022!”
